Small tears and cucumber beetle trap?

Hi,
I was also getting some small, irregular holes on
my leaves that looked like tears. All I could find
were a few black flies and a solitary crane fly on
the underside of a leaf - no cuke beetles. I
"squeeze bottle" dusted with sevin and that
seemed to help. Hopefully the damage is just
minor cosmetic and won't lead to anything more
serious.

For me, the cucumber beetles only seem to
come around when the plants blossom. Then
they'll decimate my blossoms if I let them -
anyone else notice that cucumber beetles'
favorite part is the blossom? I'm thinking about
making a cuke beetle trap out of a yellow frisbee
filled with soapy water. Any thoughts?

If anyone cares, my plants are showing 2 foot
wide leaves and won't lay down. They are
reaching for the sun (which hasn't been around
much). I've tied the vines with cloth strips to try
to "lasso" them to grow in the direction that I'd
like. This is going to be fun.

Hi I have some beautiful plants in the ground
and growing. I also have a vegetable garden
taking off. The problem is that in the past week
I have found holes, small and scattered over the
leaves almost like something tore them, chewed
in all the leaves of my vegetables(pumpkins,
cucumbers, melons, squash) and some of the
flowers I grow as well. I think it may be
grasshoppers, although I am not sure. I have
been out with my flashlight at night and have
inspected the plants at intervals during the day
and never find anything, no aphids, no beatles,
no nothing. Otherwise all the plants and vines
seem very healthy. I sprayed them all with
Rotenone powder the other day and am waiting
to see if that shows any results. Does anyone
have any ideas?...and what do I do to stop
these pests?
HELP!!!
Janet
