I heard about side dressing the vine with
cow/steer manure. I bought some steer manure at K-Mart. After I was done
"side dressing" I ended up, in essence, burying the vine, mainly the main
vines.I hope they don't burn from the high concentration of
Nitrogen. Boy, am I creating some learning experiences.
Chris it is so exciting watching these plants grow. I was out of
the growing for two seasons and watched from the sidelines-painful.
Funny thing. I didn't take up pumpkin growing. I have been
fascinated with the plant since a little kid. I used to grow Big Max in
Ohio when I was 8,9,10
Even at 16 yrs old I was trying to get that
Big Max to grow extra Big. Needless to say my teenage peer group thought
I was
C R A Z Y.
.....if you're not the lead dog the view's the same.
