Brett--I tend to agree with you on plant size and I don't believe the number
of leaves should be used as an indicator.Some good plants produce small
leaves and some produce large leaves.I believe it is the total area
available for photosynthesis that counts.
It is very easy to use a tape to get the area of a circular or rectangular
plant.
