I just pollinated my first pumpkin this morning. I was supprised early by seeing the first female about to open. I had to go to work so I went ahead and opened the female flower and pollinated. I came back a couple of hours later and the female flower had opened on up on its own. Is there anything wrong with speeding up the process like I did? I went ahead and pruned the side vine away from the pollinated pumpkin. Should I prune the leaf also or should I leave it alone? Just wanting to make room for later. I got my fingers crossed.
