Pumpkin Pollination

Hi everybody,

I've been growing some nice plants the past few weeks and 
have recently had several female flowers appear, from reading 
this list I've figured out how to pollinate my pumpkins but
I have some questions:

Can or should I pollinate the females with a males from the 
same plant or should I use other plants?

My female flowers are opened nicely but my males are closed up,
do I need to wait till the males open before I pollinate?
