Direct Start Update: 6/29/97

Direct Start Update: 6/29/97

Planted Monday evening 4/14/97.

5 Days with 90 or above already has made pollination a challenge. We have
had more days 90 or above than all last summer, which was cool, already.
Hard to believe after a cold spring. Very little rain for the past month
except for heavy T’stm’s on the 16th & 17th.

Planted in heated Direct Start Mounds, covered at night with a blanket. (See
article on Dan’s Pumpkin Page for details.) All mounds have had their window
top removed a window wall erected around them with a partial top.
