I guess I hedged my bets too much. Out of six seeds started I've got
three good plants BUT I've got room for two plants MAX:

768 Holland -- good yellow vine, some wind damage, least daily sunshine,
a secondary vine split but main vine intact, males blooming, females
have quite large "pre-pumpkins" and are ready to bloom in next day or
two. One vine borer egg found and destroyed, one vine borer moth
 destroyed on this plant.

***A: If vine borers are on one they are on them all.

745 Grant -- covering smallest growth area, vine and leaves look very
green and less wind damaged, haven't seen any female buds yet, plant
 "stuck" in between other two.

***A: If this vine has reached 10' without females there is a possibility it
may never produce one.

739 Holland -- most vigorous vines (yellow), some wind damage, small
"pre-pumpkins" on females (one appears to be a set of twins with two
ovaries beneath same flower), one male bloom so far, sunniest location.
Vine borer moth located and destroyed on this plant, no eggs located.

***A: Vigorous vine doesn’t mean it will produce the biggest Pumpkin.
Twins, be careful no ruling has been made as to enterability of a Siamese
twin, a few years ago I grew one (2) to 92" before it exploded. Had the
judges nervous.

So whad'ya think out there? Do any of these sound like clear-cut
winners (or losers)? Do I wait and see which sets the best fruit and
cull the loser, or cull before fruit set to provide less competition for
the other prospects? What if I cull the one plant that doesn't end up
borer infested? Which two would make the best cross?

***A: Now that I've been no help, do you have a coin? Bores, again they are
on then all, spray at once if you use insecticides.

I feel good that I have the luxury of choosing between several healthy
looking vines at this point, but on the other hand I hate the thought of
culling a healthy looking vine...what to do? I feel like Charlie
 Brown...wishy-washy!

***A: If you can let them fruit and reach 40" before making up you mind.
