Gordon, your story is just great so far.
In the next chapter, near the end, I am sure you will move to California
where conditions for growing pumpkins are even better (except in El Nino
years) and lose those silly mountain man prejudices as you sip your
chardonnay and watch the vines grow without any effort on your part
(unless is is a drought year).
