Where's the Pollen?

Instead of reply to the other pollen storing posts I thought it best to
make my own, presenting another AG dilemma.

Have a female about to blossom with no males yet. I have abundant males
from some plants at my 6 year olds school project. The school is ten
miles from my patch. I am not good at predicting female blossoming. When
I think I have three weeks it blossoms the next day, when I think it
will be tommorow, tommorow never seems to come. I need to be prepared. I
cannot get male blossoms on Saturday or Sunday because the school is
closed. I need to know something about storing male flowers for
pollenating and I need to know soon.
Here are a few dunce questions,

When a male flower withers is the pollen still good?

Is pollen alive?

If I cut of the flowers and put them in the fridge in water is that
enough to keep the pollen good for a few days?

Should I cut off the withered end of the flower for any reason while
storing?

Can you apply pollen that is wet from rain to a female and have it still
work?

Help me out pumpkinheads.
