Fwd: The Pennsylvania Blues

 Wayne:

Are you saying that you don't use any plastic at all to protect your plants?
Are you just putting up burlap after they are placed out to protect from the
wind. Is the warming effect of the plastic insignificant? I have found that
when the weather is cool the plants are warmed and do grow under the plastic.
The downside is that some days they can get too hot and also the watering
requirements are increased. Remay, burlap, plastic or a combination of all of
the above. Helpppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Marv,
I was having problems with the remay ripping and went to lightweight burlap
on the sides and an open top. It is very windy up on the hill where my patch
is. The light weight burlap can be stapled right to the 2 X 4s.
