Hi Pumpkin Flower,
Let those secondary vines grow. I would trim off any vines that grew
off the sides of those. The plant needs those vines to support the
leaves and roots that feed the fruit. As for fertilizer that depends on
your soil. I probably over fertilized last year so be careful. I
think a 15-30-15 water soluble at 1/2 strength is what the plants can
probably best utilize at this early stage in their growth.
