Don't cut a thing yet Pumpkin Flower. You want to train the vines
directions using 18 inch bamboo sticks. Depending on the patterrn you
choose, y formation, Christmas tree formation, x formation, you direct
the vine slowly to fit your strategy. Vines coming off secondary vines
are usually pruned but not in all cases. Fertilizing is not my specialty
but I would say it would have a lot to do with just what was in the soil
to begin with and how you vine is responding to it. What ever the case
take a resonable approach, and follow the directions on the fertilizer
package. Pumpkins like it slow and steady which means one does not force
the issue with large doses of fertilizer or other extreme measures.
