Brock's 702 & 561, Shapiro's 506 & Failor's 444

Update from southwest Wisconsin.
Thanks for the seed, people ! Any extra I had I gave to the school for
a local big pumpkin contest.

Brock's 702 : two mounds,
	mound 1 (2 yr. old Riley's) - one plant, ~13' long, 22" leaves, no
flowers out, but the buds are there. Side vines started, longest ~ 2'.
mound 2 (mine) - two plants ~11' & 10' long, small secondaries, buds.
The 10'er has a vine that is fat, with intermittent folds, noticed today
a split in side of vine exposing the inside, vines big enough to set a
50 cent piece inside. Should it be pulled ?
			-or-
The 11'er looks good, 22" leaves, but stem split when young, was buried
and seems fine. Vine healthy but not as big around as its companion.
Should it be pulled ?
			-or-
Leave both in same hill ?

Brock's 561 (12 year old Brooke's): one hill w/ one plant, 10' long,
secondaries starting, leaves ~16". I tried old corn silage here as my
compost, my guess is that it was a little to sharp and set the plant
back a ways (slowest starter)

Shapiro's 506 (wife's plant) : ~ 15' long, secondaries ranging from
2'-4', super positioning, spreading out well, 22" leaves, flower buds,
so far the "choice" plant

Failor's 444 (6 year old Callie's) : the fastest starter, big early
leaves on two plants in the hill. Both had split stems which were
buried and are looking healthy, but have fallen behind at ~9' long.
Callie's not sure she wants to pull either one as they are growing in
opposite directions, what kind of concensus is there out there for two
plants in one hill ?

Any suggestions appreciated, I consider myself in the Rookie class.

Cucumber beetles dead, mildew gone, time for the plants to grow !

later,
cornhusk
