When did you start these plants?? Seems like you have some good growth with
mains that far along real nice!!.........My wife is helping with a couple
of plants and hers are the choice ones too....... she frets half as much as
i do and does little to them and yet they look good......as far as splits
in the vine they are not the "perfect situation" if your going for major
competition.......But you have to decide what your goals are! If your
looking for a bunch of Mega halloween monsters or if your going for
competion........its really is hard to tell what pumpkins are going to do
from the size of the plants or there leaf size........Most  competive
growers do one per hill so that the one plant gets it all.... but there
isn't much data on the two per hill........until zoo doo shows us that two
is the happiest way to go..............I have grown some 650 in the same
hill ....good luck.......... brock
