John,
Forgive me for not answering sooner as I have been working overtime for the
last month and have 3 weeks worth of email to peruse. As a pharmacist I feel
qualified to answer this question. If my course study had included P-Chem and
Inorganic, I would now have a BS in Chemistry. Two BS's is enough for me.
Due to the pKa of certain ionic groups on the chemical benomed Captan and a
potent proton donator on the chemical called Sevin, a precipitate will form
if they are mixed in the wrong order. DO NOT MIX THE CAPTAN IN THE WATER
FIRST. A potentially lethal gas is emmited from this acid base reaction.
Individuals inhaling this gas have experienced euphoria, confusion and
psychosis. One man inhaled this gas and was so afflicted that he fashioned a
boat out of his pumpkin and tried to motor across New York. The substance
produced if you mix them in the wrong order is called CAPTAIN. It might be
very dangerous for a man named Columbus to experiment with this combination.
Be careful out there,
POV
