Chris,

What I do is ....do a thorough check of the vines looking for any negative
aspects vine splits,health of the plant,bugs, difficulty working the
plant..then measure putting a marker and see which main is growing the
best,,,best leaf coverage,,,,,,,,then I  take a deep breath and make the
appropriate cut.......then a week later i start wondering if i did the
right thing.....sounds like if you could wait a little longer to see the
other female blossoms it will be more clear which to cut......theres......
always the surprise squash.......brock
