Most growers shoot for the main so thats where most the big ones come from.
Strong secondaries are not used as much but have produce big ones
too................I just set as many as you can and the pick and
choose...the best fastest growing.........some growers do a check on each
pumpkin as it hits so many days old from pollination say day10,day14,day
21.....then you check each pumpkin and see which is growing the fastest
some of the first set appear to be  the biggest but in reality you could
have a faster moving pumpkin 8 days younger.................brock
