Extending the day beyond 16 hours or so will just do more harm than good.
They should have about 8 hours of darkness. But if the INTENSITY oramount of
sunlight isn't enough, it could supplement it. But usually grow lights are
only used during the seedling stage. Are you talking about out in the field?!
There was only one guy who actually spent thousands of dollars using high
powered football field lights in his patch, but later was diagnosed as
clinically insane. ALso the lights wold have to be close enough to the plants
to work. For 40 watt flourescent light tubes, no more than 6 inches away from
the tube.
