Hi Connie. I would say that 4 to six gallons a day is a bit much. This
year I developed an excellent root system by watering every other day with
about 2 to 4 gallons. I just added weak amounts of miricle grow daily to
promote the root growth and I burried compost to the sides and very deep
under my plant to encourage root to go for it
