Guys,
I have no idea the genetics from the seeds I have. The envelope that was
given to me had 20 seeds in it. Hand written on the front, it said "Giant
Grey Stripe" Sunflowers. Out of the 20, 19 germinated. I did lose 5 more
because of the wind and how tender they were. I still have 14 in the ground.
They are amazing. After all the talk on the list, I took the old measuring
tape to the sunflowers this a.m. I am not sure if this is norm or pretty
good. The tallest one was 2 ft. This is my first w/ sunflowers, however,
the leaves that make the head are soooo big around. Didn't measure though.
The stock was 3 in. in circ. and the largest leaf was 9 in. wide. I am not
sure what they are, but I am impressed. They are almost as fun as watching
pumpkins grow.
