Re: squash bugs
I had squash bugs real bad last year. I spent a lot of time on my hands
and knees squishing. I know why they have the nick name of 'stink bug'
I think all of the sprays that I tried did very little. They did kill
the small ones but not the big ones. The only thing that helped was hand
picking the plant every day. It's gross but it works. I don't see how
you could possibly have the time to do it if you have more than one
plant. My plant had at least a few bugs on it all year (the ones that I
missed) and it survived just fine. I was lucky, I'm sure. The only way
that I know of to controle squash bugs is to rotate crops on the land.
When the new eggs hatch the next spring, there is no cucurbit to munch on
and they starve. I just have not seen any success with any of the
non-licensed sprays. -My two bits

P.S. Be sure to look under the leaves around the veins, that is where I
allways would find them.
