Methoxychlor is available in some garden centers...it is not as readily
as sevin, but it can be had with a little hunting.

Hey Wayne,
Do you have any recommendations for using "Isotox" the insecticide
that was mentioned in Don Langevin's 2nd book? do you know if this spray
works as well or better then Sevin or Methoxychlor against vine borers? I
understand that its not highly recommended because of the toxicity and the
pumpkin and seeds should not be eaten if this product is used, this stuff is
readily available in almost any garden store sold under "Ortho Products" but
does it really work? (Elkskin)
