Pumpkin plant really taking off! Question on when to pollinate?

I see a couple female blossoms, yet they haven't opened up, the main vine is
2ft, should I pollinate it, or break it off and let the vine spread out
more?!
First time grower, I am just happy to see plant doing so well in are crazy
weather, rain and more rain and hail and cool!! It's even below normal for
us! Northwestern Ontario>
