Re: Sprouting

Irene,
I have had very good sucess this way after finding out that you have
to ring out a much of the water from the paper towel as you can with your
hands. I then put towel in a jiffy bag and place it on a grate over the top of
my computer monitor.
This has worked well for me in the past.

Has anybody pre-sprouted seeds between layers of wet paper towel loosely wrapped in Saran Wrap or stuck into a bread sack?  I haven't tried it with pumpkin seeds yet, but I have with lots of other seeds and it works great.  BUT, if you are pre-sprouting small seeds, don't use paper towel.  The roots grow into and through the fiber.  What a pain!  You have to VERY carefully tear up the paper toweling without damaging tiny roots. Large seeds don't do that though.
