Hi together,
this year I will grow Atlantic Giants for the first time.
This has been made possible by your friendly seed donations. Thank you very
much.
But I have some beginner's questions.
I am going to grow the pumpkins on 290,5 square feet of patch
in my grandmother's backyard. I know that this area isn't very big, but it
is the biggest field I am able to use.
My question: Is it too late to add some compost and manure to
the patch for the coming growing season? I am able to use 50 gallons of compost
on the patch. If it isn't too late, how should I add it? Should I till it
in?
Another question is how many plants will I be able to
grow in this small patch. I am asking this, because so many friendly people have
send me some seed, that I want to grow one seed from each of them, because I
promised to let them know, how their seeds are doing.
I am also able to plant two plants directly into two
different compost piles. Is it ok to do this? Or will it damage the plants,
if they are grown in pure compost? The vines of these two plants will
have to grow over a lawn. Is that ok?
Thanks in advance for your help
