GPC Rule change ?
I was reading a note of a possible GPC Rule change. I am not the key focal for this ruling. Please address your concerns to your local GPC focal.
GPC #1) The pumpkin must be grown, cared for, and exhibited by the grower. In cases of emergency (serious illness, death in the family, etc.), the site co-ordinator will make the decision as to allowing exceptions to the rule, and the site co-ordinator's decision is final.
**GPC #6)Color requirements - To be eligible for heaviest pumpkin, the entry must be a minimum of 75% white to cream-yellow to orange in color. All others will be considered squash.
Rules #1 and #6** will be enforced with the site director's decision being final, in case of a challenge.
A color grid will be used to determine the color of an entry. The grid will be placed on the entry in seven spots- spots on either side of the stem, on each side of the blossom, on each side of the entry, and on top of the entry.
