RE: Earthquake Lost pumpkin

Hi Kathie and List,
Thanks for the concern, all is well. This one was a wild ride. I've
lived in SoCal and ridden out a number of quakes here and there over the
years, but this one topped them all. We've been very lucky to have so few
injuries with all the damage that was done. It's really made mess of the
commutes with a number of roads and overpasses closed for inspections and
repairs. Only a few knick knacks knocked over at home, nothing broken and a
small crack in the drywall that a little spackle and paint will cover
nicely. I was at work and am one of those sick puppies that gets a bit of a
thrill from these things. I imagine that will pass if they ever have to
pull me or my family out of the rubble one day. One interesting report I
heard was thousand of earthworms came out of the soil after the quake in
some locations. I haven't been to the patch, but I hope those worms made it
back to their homes before the birds found them. We're all just counting
our blessings and happy that it was deep. It could have been much worse.
My plot's aren't tilled like Brett's, but I do have an area covered in
black plastic and warming up for planting time.
