if you have the chance go to bigpumpkins.com someone posted a report
from one of the ag schools a report on how deep the roots can go with
good soil if i remember right it was around 6 feet down lenard stellplug
from rush n.y. said that one year he worked up a patch of ground to
plant a fall crop near his pumpkin patch and his plant was dead headed
before this newly worked ground and found roots all through the new
patch deb
