Re: Size and depth of AG root system


Here are a few tips i would give you, i'm sure you'll get a few more.

1.  They don't need that much space!! in my opinion 1000sqft max. each

2. Don't grow so many, 10 is far too many for a first year grower unless you
are looking after them full time

3. Concentrate your energies on less plants to produce a big one rather than
spread it between 10 to make 10 not so big ones.  (that's most peoples goal
here).

4. Make sure you prepare your site well, lastly, perhaps if you ahve not
already get Don Langevins book, How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins (II).
This will prove an invaluable aid to you at the start of your AG growing
career.

one last thing, start networking on this list and learn from it.  Try and
get the best seed possible be it from growers on the list, Howard Dill or
Ray Waterman.
