As an alternative you can use Styrofoam containers (like from the fast food
counter). This makes its easier when you need to transplant.
Cut out the bottom and then place the lid on the container. Turn it over and
fill with your potting mix.
Plant your seed
When it is ready to transplant you put the pot in the garden hole. Remove
the lid from the bottom and then carefully cut away the side.
Basically yoy do not disturb the roots and the plant does not have to
struglle through the peat(or toilet paper).
I think this is a cleaner way of doing it(pun intended)
