Yo Larry,
What you say is correct, I beleive. Take a tomato, it will stay
green until the seeds inside have matured and then it will ripen and turn
red (or yellow). If you take the seeds out of a green tomato only some will
germinate, the others wont because they are not mature. Take them out of a
red tomato and all will germinate, they are all mature. If this is the same
with pumpkins, then Gerry's still had a bit of maturing to do, and maybe a
few more lbs, who knows? Cull an AG at 100lbs and cut it open, no mature
seed, unless it has been stressed and wants to produce seed before it dies.
A plants only goal in life is to grow and reproduce. My few cents worth.
