Re: pumpkins DIGEST V1 #366
No Paul, I wouldn't ever buy another seed from Ray. The only reason I
complain is that I ordered seeds from him about three years ago. I called
his company a month later and the person who answered the phone said they
couldn't find my order. Apparently there was only one person who worked
there who could. They didn't offer to call me back when that person was in,
I just had to call back for about 3 days until that person was there. A
month after this, I finally got my seeds. When I had written to this list
saying my seeds were not at my home yet, many growers sent me free seeds.
Needless to say, I used the free seeds and put Ray's seeds that came with no
genetics on the shelf.
I feel that if I am given horrible service, I have the right to
complain and let others know so they don't have to give business to someone
like that.
Aside from the above complaint, I am against selling seeds for the fact
that I think it will start to cause fraud, and the genetics will be ruined
when one thinks they have a great seed that is really a 250 Sanchez. If Ray
and others want to sell other products, such as tarps ect., that is not a
problem, but I will always warn others of the horrible service that most
likely awaits them. Maybe his service is better now, it very well could be.
Maybe when he takes 2 months to send out a seed now it is due to a huge
error and he apologizes or even gives a discount. That would be a smart
business practice that would have left me a non-complaining return customer
for items other that seeds. But if one needs a lifting tarp, go with the
Reynolds. It has worked great for me and came in a week.

I have to agree with Eda , when it gets like this it's best to back off &
leave it go. When I first started I ordered from both Ray & Howard, had no
complaint with either person. Now I get my seed through trades or sending
b-pacs to growers , but if either Ray or Howard had something I wanted I
wouldn't hesitate to order in a minute & everyone on the list knows that if
Ray had more 845 Bobiers 00 at say $10-15 apiece you would all swallow your
pride & write a check.....right?
What I'm getting at is we all know they are buisness men & if you have a
buisness your first priority is to sell your buisness...correct?
If you don't try to sell your buisness you will fail in a second, so if
you don't like Ray's or anyone else's post don't open it......delete it.
There are threads all the time that pop up & I know they are of no real use
& I just delete them without opening them.
When you look at the big picture isn't it easier to take a second & click
something off, than to chance burning a lot of bridges you might want to
cross back on later?
Just a thought..............Paul

Hey, people, I hate to sound naive - aren't we getting a little vicious
here? Is this what this list is all about? What is going on here? How is
this helpful? Let's knock this off and go kick some compost or something.
Remember September 11th.
