RE: Western Canada Newbie Update

Hey growers, I got an MS Excel file called Soil Mixes. It has over 25 different soil "recipes" for various things from veggies to fruit trees. Plus I have a bunch of formulas embedded where you can calculate amounts & conversions, from tablespoons to cu yds, bushels, gallons, plot size or raised bed dimensions x depth, even amounts of ingredients if you have the # of gallons of soilmix you want. There's too much to list here but you can view what it looks like in html/web browser--the items in shaded cells can be changed by you to make calculations you need. Also, nlot really mentioned but just hit upon by Glenn, there are differences between "dry" & "wet" amounts, and when you're talking about large beds, it can be CONSIDERABLE differences. On many, I list both. You can look at the webpage which you can't change anything and if you like it & think you can use it, e-mail me Privately and I can send it (YES, it's FREE.) I use Office 2000 so I can resave & send it in many different spreadsheet formats, Excel 2.1 thru 5/95, 97, 2000, 1-2-3 wk1-wk3-wk4, etc, but you must let me know if on a PC & what spreadsheet program you use. Hope this helps.

30’x30’x1’deep/27 = 33.33 cu. Yd. of topsoil.  Trust me, I do this for a living.
