List. I am a second year grower and have a question. I planted a couple of
seeds in the house from my pumpkin of last year just to see if they would
germinate. I used soil from my patch that I am using this year. Through a
slight error I have a little too much nitrogen in this soil. The seeds
germinated and grew quite rapidly. However they grew mostly stem. The stems
grew 2 to 3 inches per day for 2 or 3 days. The leaves are about 1 1/2
inches
across but the stems are 9 to 11 inches tall. Could this be from too much
water or maybe too much nitrogen? I am trying a couple more seeds now, from
other soil to see if it happens again.
