Gee -I remember when New England's Topsfield Fair and Hugh Wiberg had no
squash class and absolutely no interest in squash what-so-ever! You couldn't
weigh a squash in New England and some growers even traveled to Collins NY to
weigh-in. A grower from outside New England was not allowed to weigh-in at
Topsfield either! It wasn't promotional for the PR Firm who promoted the
contest to talk squash when "Pumpkins" were so hot a topic and promotional
(and someone else was doing the lion's share of promoting for all sites,
including Topsfield). So, why should there be a big effort to promote squash
now. I think you should look to who is actually promoting the Topsfield
Event and your question will be answered, to some degree! Perhaps you should
be happy to just get a "Squash" class!
