pumpkins dying
I would check for root moisture during the growing time. The roots need air. do not water every day. Is the soil draining properly.? I would skip the root fertilizer. You should be careful with the miricle grow as well. More is not better. Follow the label instructions.
To get rid of any concentration of fertilizer at the roots. Till the whole garden down to 10 inches and ckeck soil structure. Check for pumpkin soil. I suspect it is not unusual. Your site may have a problem. Could have too much or too little of a component. ( sand, clay, organic matter) search soil structure on you cooperative extension site near your locality.
Good luck.
