The other day I recieved a catalog of organic pest control called Gardeners Choice. They carry a type of beneficial nematodes that they say can be injected into curcurbits and other fruits to control borers including squash vine borers. They claim that it can be delivered via syringe at specified intervals and the nematodes will search and destroy the borers. I have heard of these nematodes before but only as to add to the soil to kill grubs and such, but if this if true it would be a great help. Has anyone out there ever tried these? Do they work ? If so it would be easier than cutting open the vine when a borer gets by your defenses.
