As tillers go, the Mantis is not really all that expensive. Whether or not you
need a tiller depends on how big your garden is nad how young and tough you
are. A front tine tiller is cheaper than a rear tine but harder to operate, I
have never heard of the brands you mention but it doesn't make a lot of
difference. I'd ask about the availability of service. No matter how good the
tiller, it will need service. Also you might be able to pick up a good used
tiller for much less than a new one and maybe even bigger and better. Also
they are very cheap to rent. You might want to try one out by renting it
before you buy. If your garden is new and the ground has never been tilled
before I'd rent a bigger tiller to do it the first time. Hope this helps. I
rent now because it is much cheaper than owning for me. I can rent a $1500
tiller for $40 a day. Check it out.
