Earliest Start In 25 Years (Eat yor hart out Wayne)

Tilled the Pumpkin Patch tonight, (Garden is lighted). This is the earliest,
by far, in the 25 years we have lived here by about two weeks. This will give
the Winter Rye time to decompose and Lime time to work. Tilled in the Catfood
too, trying to figure out the best way to calculate the amount I put down. I
scattered it around evenly with about 1.5 inches between the small pieces.
Hope that helps, not very scientific though. I had a little frost in one
corner of the patch but the soil on top was dry, thought that was unusual. So
I dug it up to look at it and it had worm holes from last Fall going right
through it, allowing it to drain. Another benefit of having lots of worms I
never realized. Hope to plant my Pea’s under glass within a week. Pumpkins
will not go in for 5 weeks though. I will prepare the hills and heating
cables well ahead of time.

Let the race begin!

George
