With all this talk about fertilizer I should mention this. Never use granular
fertilizer that contains nitrogen in an enclosure. It will give off ammonia
gas for several days that will kill everything inside. You can fertilize the
area then water in and wait a week, put up the enclosure, then it should be
safe to plant. Liquid fertilizer, like Peters, doesn’t have this problem.
