Lint has traces of chemicals (detergents, fabric softeners, soil release
products and probably some petroleum distallates, depending on what cleaning
products you use). It also has color. 

Why would you want to put lint in a compost pile? (Not being rude, but really
asking!) After all, it is sterile from the high heat, clorox, etc.....

Whether or not the little bit of lint an average household produces would do
anything good or bad to a good sized compost pile is questionable. My
inclination would be not to. Solves the question of a doubt in case things go
wrong.

Just MHO.  Anyone else care to jump in on this one?
