Re: Advice and Oregon Update

Dan,
My name is Brett, a five year grower from Canby, let me know when you want to
talk pumpkins.

Oregon update looks a little something like this. Thanks from a little help
from above, I am now able to make the super cross this year between the #567.5
Mombert and the #827 Holland. I have decided to pull out all the stops and
plant my best seeds, all of them, well at least 6, or maybe 5 or four
depending on if I try out that #469 and a squash, but anyway here is the
lineup.
Site one: Rototilled and fertilized, sprinkler adjusted, frame up for close.
This holds true for all sites after the beautiful day we had here in Canby.
This site will hold the #875 Lloyd.
Site #2: This site will hold either a squash, my #469, or the #697 Ciliberto.
I am a little leary about the dill ring problems associated with the 697
(pointed out by Jack), but I still have a feeling, if not the #975 Zehr, or
990 Bax for a pollinator.
Site #3: Leaning towards the #825 Shymanski, but that #1006 is calling my
name.
Site #4: #827 Holland, yep.
Site #5: #567.5 Mombert, no doubt.
Site #6: #676 LaRue, for sure.
Planting date is scheduled for April 18, and yes, there will be a weigh-off in
Canby Oregon with $10,000 in prize money. $3000 for first and money paid
through 20th place. It will be on Oct. 10 at high noon (time of day not set
in stone, but date is.) Everyone can camp out at my place, but let me know if
your coming.

Take care,
Brett The Pumpkinguru
