Were you applying some type of liquid fertilizer directly to the plant? One
of my similiar problems was just that. You should just feritilize the ground
around the plant until the vines start to run and get about 8 to 10 feet long.
Then try to just fertilize the older big leaves on the vine that helped me.
Also one time I was running the water off my water softener in the house by
mistake and small amount of deluted salt effected my plants in that way.
