Dan:
The only two growers of AG,s in FL that make themselves known are me and Tim
Canniff, in the Bradenton area.
I can't imagine anyone growing them in that severe climate. While Spring is
OK, the soil is poor (crushed shell) and most likely alkaline due to salt
water intrusion.
Lots of palms, cactus seagrape and mangrove stands there. Citrus can do well,
too. Can't imagine anyone raising pumpkins unless they trucked in lots of
topsoil.
Have you been to the Keys before? Bring lots of sunblock, sunglasses and hats.
