Field of Dreams

I went on a Tiki Tour of the District yesterday with Councillors, Mayors
and Deputy Mayors and all those sorts of people.

We travelled around Hawera to look at strategic assets. On the way past
Ararata Hall we passed a field with four HUGE pumpkins in it. They all
must have been around the 400 pound mark.

An hour later we drove past a field in Forbes Road with thirteen
whoppers all glowing bright orange and looking soooooo coooooool.

All the elected member got out to look and commented on how magnificent
the pumpkins looked and vowed to enter next year. They (the pumpkins -
not that there is a lot of difference in some cases) looked so wonderful
in the late Autumn sun in such a rich green pasture and the blue sky.

It was then that I realised what a lot of pleasure people get from this
bizzare hobby and what interest it creates.

Twelve sleeps to go !
