Andrew,
Better think about getting them planted soon, you don't want them to get leggy. If the temp is staying reasonably warm at night, you might consider erecting a piece of shade cloth in the shape of a tent or lean to, to cut the heat down during the day. If it gets cold at night, you could drape some plastic around it. If your afraid it might get too cold, put a few milk jugs of hot water in under the plastic. ( leave the water in the jugs ). Bob T.
Andrew Papez wrote: Hello everyone; When do you plant the seedlings outside. My plants are at the early 3 true leaf stage but are in 12 inch peat pots. I'm hardening them off but the heat is unusally hot going up to 85 degrees today. Scared to plant just in case they cook. Have put them in the shade and seem to be doing fine. Any suggestions. I'm a second year grower and unexperienced in this matter. Last year put them out on the 14th and grew a 632 pounder. Please help!!!!!!!! andrew |
