WHEN TO PLANT OUTSIDE

When do you plant the seedlings outside. My plants are at the early 3 true leaf stage but are in 12 inch peat pots. I'm hardening them off but the heat is unusally hot going up to 85 degrees today. Scared to plant just in case they cook. Have put them in the shade and seem to be doing fine. Any suggestions. I'm a second year grower and unexperienced in this matter. Last year put them out on the 14th and grew a 632 pounder.Please help!!!!!!!!
