My advice is that you should plant them. The seeds need warmth to germinate,
but the plant with its roots is not so fragile. It just will not grow very
fast until things warm up, which means that bugs and cats and dogs and
woodchucks will have more salad available before the vine puts out its little
mini-thorns.
We had a very cold, wet spring here last year, and the first month was a
nail-biter, but after that things picked up.
But, who knows..
