Bill, or Brian, or whoever....
I am not a "bug expert", I never said I was. But if you have beetles which
are black with yellow spots, you don't have cuke beetles.
I know they take on color variations from region to region, but a complete
opposite coloration with only 4 spots tells me that it is NOT a cucumber
beetle.
Spraying indiscriminately before the insect is properly identified would not
be wise. He also did not say they were chewing his leaves.
Plants should be small enough to hand-pick any questionable insects and
cover with remay until insects are identified.
