Re: Split main vine

Hi All,

First year grower from Mississippi here. I have two giant pumpkin plants.
Longest vine(s) are about 6 feet or so and splits about 3 feet out into two
vines....notice I say split....not a secondary.....the vine simply splits
into two separate vines, as best I can tell of equal size. Is this normal?
I have what I would call a secondary vine coming off this main vine(s) about
a foot out.

My understanding is I should focus my attention on pumpkins coming from
vines originating from the main vine within 18" of the roots. So, do I now
have 3 target vines? A little insight would be appreciated.
